Calispell Lake

Located approximately 40 miles northeast of Chewelah in the Kaniksu National Forest, Calispell Lake is part of the Calispell Creek system. The creek flows through Power and Calispell Lakes before emptying into the Pend Oreille River near Cusick, WA. The area offers opportunities for paddling, wildlife viewing, and fishing. The best access point is at McKenzie Road Bridge, where paddlers can travel upstream into Calispell Lake. However, low water levels in late summer can make navigation challenging.

  • Largemouth bass 
  • Yellow perch 
  • Northern pike
