Located about 110 miles southwest of Chewelah, White Mud Lake is accessible year-round, though access is only possible via the 1701 Road and Cleman Mountain, requiring a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Hiking may be necessary to reach the lake, as the private access road is not open to the public. The lake has selective gear rules in effect, including single barbless hooks and a trout daily limit of one fish, minimum size 18 inches.
